Raul Cuero's Interview about Creativity

Raul Cuero defines creativity as "changing the expectations, by you doing something that the other person expects you cannot do."  He gave an example of this by talking about how he didn't have many friends to go out with as a child and he was raised with no toys, so he would sit around his grandmothers house and watch the roaches.  As he grew older he started to study the roaches behavior.

Cuero also defines creativity as how you perceive nature in relation with you existence.  In order to perceive nature, you have to be a good observer.  Every single day we as human beings are out in nature.  The more we're in nature, the more we gain more of a creative sense in a way.  So in our everyday lives, if we just stop and pay attention to the nature around us, Cuero suggests that this well help give us a more creative mindset.  Cuero says two problems we have that limit our creativity are that one, we are spending too much time with technology, and that is limiting our time spent outdoors and with nature; and two, people of today's day are communicating too much over technology rather than face to face.  If we wanted to become more creative in Raul Cuero's mind, we would have to spend less of our day inside with technology, and more with nature.  With that comes more communication with our peers face to face.  Both of these ideas are quick changes that are easily applicable in our daily lives.

Introduction

My name is Jaden Hoffman, and I am a first year student from Appleton, Wisconsin, a city about an hour and a half north of Milwaukee.  I came to The University of Tampa to major in sports management.  It's been my lifelong dream to work in the front office of a professional sports team, and I felt like UT would provide me with plenty of opportunities for me to get started on that.  Art and Technology was the first college course I attended.  I was extremely nervous when I first sat down because I didn't know what to expect from my first college class.  After a few minutes I realized that there wasn't anything to be nervous about.  Professors are very helpful and understanding.  When I signed up for this class, my goal was to take from it a better understanding of how are influences technology, and how technology influences art.
